Descriptions:
Renoc is a perfect combination which contains vitamin D3, calcium carbonate and zinc as active ingredients. This combination medication is used to prevent or treat blood calcium levels in people who do not get enough calcium from their diets.
Renoc is used to treat conditions caused by low calcium levels such as bones loss( osteoporosis), weak bones ( osteomalacia/ rickets) decreased activity of parathyroid gland (hypoparathyroidism) and a certain muscle disease ( latent tetany). It may also be used in certain patients to make sure they are getting enough calcium ( e.g., women who are pregnant, nursing or postmenopausal, people taking certain medications such as phenytoin, phenobarbital or prednisone). Calcium plays a very important role in the body. It is necessary for normal functioning of nerves, cells, muscle and bone. If there is not enough calcium in the blood then body will take calcium from bones, thereby weakening bones.
Vitamin D helps our body to absorb calcium and phosphorus , having the right amounts of vitamin D, calcium and phosphorus is important for building and keeping strong bones.
Zinc is a trace mineral and essential for many body functions including the immune response, reproduction, growth, development and neurological roles. It is found in several  biological reactions and it is needed for  immune function, wound healing, blood clotting and thyroid function. Zinc is not only important for enzymes  but also for proteins and amino acid synthesis. It is involved in learning memory formation, cellular signaling, gene expression and the metabolism of DNA and RNA. Zinc makes up a small percentage of the bone, zinc is needed to form hydroxylapatite which is naturally occurring crystalline calcium complex. Hydroxylapatite  crystals form the bulk of bones and teeth. Zinc can also improve bone health indirectly by other means. For example zinc promotes wound healing and enhances the function of immune system. These are two major roles for zinc concerning bones health:
Bones mineral hydroxyapatite crystals contain  a complex of zinc  and fluoride. Zinc stimulates bones building osteoblast and inhibits the function of bone resorption by osteoclasts.
Indications:
Renoc is available for individuals who do not obtain essential nutrients through diet.
Renoc Tablet is beneficial to:
Osteoprosis
Post –menopausal osteoporosis
Hypocalcaemia
Weak bones ( osteomalacia \rickets)
Contraindication:
Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to any of its components.
Warning and Precautions:
Before using this supplement , consult your doctor if you have;
· Hypercalcaemia
· Hypervitaminosis D
· Malabsorption syndrome
· Sarcidosis
· Crohn’s  disease
Interactions:
Calcium and zinc can decrease the absorption of following antibiotics such as;
· Tetracyline antibiotics
· Quinoline antibiotis
Certain medications can decrease the absorption of vitamin D like bile acid sequestrants  such as
· Cholestyramine\ Colestipol
· Mineral oil, orlistat
Side effects:
Some people experience gastrointestinal disturbances, including gas or constipation when taking supplemental calcium. Zinc supplements may cause nausea or upset stomach. These symptoms can be reduced by taking your supplement with a meal.
